We are currently using 100% sustainable soy wax in all of our candles. In the future we may add a coconut/soy wax blend. We are committed to pouring the cleanest candles possible. We source fragrance oils that are specifically made for 100% soy wax and cure our candles for 4-6 weeks to get maximum scent throw. Most candles today are made of paraffin wax which creates highly toxic benzene and toluene when burned (both are known carcinogens). In fact, the toxins released from paraffin candles are the same as those found in diesel fuel fumes and are linked to asthma and lung cancer. The big candle brands use paraffin wax or a soy/paraffin wax blend to get a robust scent throw.

We use oils that are a blend of essential oils, natural fragrance oils, and a minimal amount of synthetic fragrance oils. When we create our fragrances we source fragrances that are 100% natural. The base oil for our reed diffuser is 100% fractionated coconut oil.

Fractionated coconut oil is also known as MCT coconut oil. Medium-Chain Triglycerides, MCT, is what's left after virgin coconut oil has been distilled and the long-chain fatty acids are removed. What remains is an ultralight, odorless coconut oil that stays liquid in form at cooler temps. It is highly stable and resistant to oxidation. Oxidation is what causes regular oils to become discolored, or yellow-ish. Bougie Beach Candle uses 100% Fractionated Coconut Oil as the base for its reed diffusers because it is a thinner oil allowing the liquid to travel and saturate the reeds more effectively.

Each time you want to burn your candle, start by trimming the wick to between 1/8 and 1/4 inches long, and remove any debris. Trimmed wicks will give you a cleaner, brighter burn. 2. Let the wax melt all the way across. Extinguishing a candle before it has a chance to melt to the sides of the container will create a “memory ring.” Once a candle has a “memory ring,” it will continue to tunnel for the life of the candle. 3. In general, it is recommended that candles do not burn for longer than 4 hours and cool for at least 2 hours before relighting. 4. Keep the flame away from moving air. Moving air can disturb the flame, leading to unsightly black marks on the inside of the container. 5. Store candles in a cool, dark and dry place with the lid on to keep them clean of dust and debris, and to help protect the wax and fragrance. Highly fragrant candles have a life span of 6 to 12 months, depending on the scent. 6. When the candle wax has burned down to 1/2", please discontinue use. Scoop out the wax and wick, pop into the dishwasher, and re-purpose your container. CAUTION: Do not leave candles burning unattended. Keep away from children and pets. Keep away from flammable materials. Ensure candle is placed on a heat proof surface. Do not move the candle when lit. ​

Adjust the scent by adding or removing the reeds: Light: 2 reeds Moderate: 4 reeds Strong: 5 reeds & up 2. Use a coaster or plate under your diffuser to keep any oil drips from damaging your surfaces. 3. Place your reed diffuser in a high traffic area, this encourages air circulation and lifts the fragrance. 4. Flip the reeds every 3-5 days to freshen the fragrance taking care not to spill the oil. WARNING: - Flammable liquid. Do not light reeds. Do not ingest. - Keep out of reach of children and pets. - People suffering from perfume sensitivity should be cautious when using this product. - Use gloves when handling reeds. - Do not place the diffuser directly onto polished, painted, plastic or leather surfaces or on electrical equipment, as accidental spillage may cause damage to certain materials.

The formulation uses natural oils and when exposed to the oxygen in air or sunlight, it may change color. Over time the product will become progressively darker. Please be assured that this does not affect the performance of the product at all, and is not a sign that the product has expired (i.e. "gone off").

We do accept returns of new, unused merchandise with original tags and packaging, unless otherwise stated. Candles must be unused and in the same condition they were received. • Returns must be started within 15 days of delivery. • Refunds are processed once they are received.
